Benjamin Ziai has been a member of the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra since 2016 and collaborates regularly with Utopia Orchestra since 2023. From 2023 he also started to teach at Lilla Akademien in Stockholm.

He received his musical training at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris and at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, where he studied in the class of renown pedagogues Professor Rick Stotijn and Olivier Thiery. During his studies he was selected as an academist at three orchestras : Orchestre de Paris, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, and the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra (2015–2016).

Alongside his orchestral and educational work, Benjamin is passionate about languages and cultures. He is fluent in French, English, Spanish, and Swedish, and holds further knowledge of German, Italian, Farsi, and Russian.

As a musician and educator, Benjamin brings a philosophy centred on awareness, curiosity, and presence. His approach seeks to balance precision and discipline with joy, creative freedom, and deeper musical connection and believes that those values and ideas are in the very essence of O/Modernt and the New Generation symphony orchestra.
